Tokyo women wear heels. Girls as young as 10-years-old wear heels as a norm. I tried to get a shot of this, but, sadly, didn’t manage.
The thing I saw with the young women, though, was that they wear their heels slightly too big. It’s said that having the shoe heel right below the center of your foot’s heel (borderline too small) is the most comfortable and stable way to wear high heels. Thus, I’m not sure if the half-size-up is a comfort thing or what, but it’s interesting and was certainly noticeable.
