>Mad for Herve
>The beautiful ladies of Mad Men (we LOVE).
Okay, so I could post and post and post about the amazing fashions in Mad Men, but that’s beside the point. When I saw this picture, the first thing that caught my eye was that they were ALL wearing dresses by Herve Leger by Max Azria. That’s not something you see in most photoshoots–buuut, the photo is from Men’s Vogue. Ooooh, okay. I get it. Not to diss Men’s Vogue or anything, but it makes sense now. That’s not something you’d see in a women’s fashion magazine. I think it looks fine, although, it kind of looks like a Herve Leger advert.
In any case, I really like the new designs and materials Herve Leger has been coming out with. The one trick skin-tight-bandaged-dress-on-x-celebrity was starting to get a little boring. But it’s always interesting when you have a designer with a signature look that’s in every piece of the collection. For Herve Leger it’s the innovative, wide elastic strips that are sewn together to really hug the body. It’s more challenging to design with such restrictions, but if you can keep it fresh then it’s great because the collections will always be cohesive. I suppose Max Azria doesn’t get bored designing with strips because he also has BGBG and Max Azria to give him some freedom.
