>Ruti: Tel Aviv Designers Take Over a New Pac Heights Boutique

Fillmore’s latest restaurant hustle (Jane, Bun Mi) met a big ‘ole fashion bustle last Friday when Ruti, a womenswear and lifestyle boutique, launched their first SF store, in Pacific Heights.

Owner Ruti Zisser, opened her first shop two years ago in Palo Alto, and carries womens RTW pieces and accessories, exclusively from designers based in Tel Aviv. All politics aside, that’s hot.
The Spring/Summer ‘11 collections from these emerging Israeli designers include convertible, slinky dresses and a nice mix of soft and structured separates. The palette includes pretty neutrals, cool greys, soft prints, and, of course, some black for good measure. The accessories commingle, while adding slight bursts of color. Their United Nude grey perforated leather flats, tipped with bright patent coral, and a chunky black square heel, immediately made our want list.
The interior features an original installation by local artist Yedda Morrison, who’s use of wool yarns, thread and leather flow perfectly with the showcased apparel. The space, created by local design authority, Nicole Hollis, also features a custom table made of white copy paper. Very cool.
At first glance, Ruti isn’t anything wildy different from the hyper-chic apparel shops in Pac Heights, but the smart, hard-to-find designers make it SF’s Middle East must shop.
Ruti, 2119 Fillmore St., open Monday through Saturday from 11am-7pm, and Sunday from 11am-6pm.

>Look of the Week: Suit Up, 6 Swimsuits That Double as Bodysuits

We’re big fans of functional fashion. Get some street action out of your swimwear this season with a maillot that doubles as a bodysuit. After all, you never know when a morning bike ride through Crissy Field will end with spontaneous swimming at Baker Beach, or when an epic night out will end with a late night hot-tub session.

We love these six swimsuits for their flattering, beach-flirty designs, but also for their urban wearability. Paired with high-waisted shorts or a long and lean skirt, you’ll see that these suits go well beyond the beach.

The Junior League of San Francisco celebrates it’s centennial anniversary this year with their 85th Annual Fashion Show: A Fashionable Legacy. Both the luncheon and dinner shows, will be held this Friday at the Fairmont Hotel.
Each year the show features members of the JLSF, their hubbies and their children as models in the elaborate runway show. Model trainer, Charleston Pierce, is back on the scene this year, to help these charitable ladies get officially runway ready. (We’re guessing the new models just happen to be catching up on America’s Next Top Model, too.) Read More…

With several new exhibits, and various free admission days*, it’s a great week for museum hopping. This Sunday, take a free historical tour of Bali, at the Asian Art Museum. On Tuesday, double-up with free entrance to the Fine Arts Museums of SF. The de Young has already drawn a celebrity audience with Balenciaga and Spain, while the Legion of Honor continues with Pulp Fashion: The Art of Isabelle de Borchgrave.
Indulge in culture and celebrate design with a well crafted outfit of your own. This week, we’re opting for a soft, spring palette, with two key trends: florals and convertible handbags. Museum-going means lots of walking. Make sure those feet stay comfy with a pair of soft leather wedges you’ll cherish all season long. Read More…

So you’re in with TechCrunch, have 500+ connections on LinkedIn and are getting cash from Sequoia Capital. The thing is, you’re still rolling into work in ill-fitting jeans.
Last year, our little Mark Zuckerberg was listed among Esquire’s top 10 worst dressed list inThe 2010 Celebrity Hall of Shame. Zuck shares the bi-winning honor with none other than Charlie Sheen. Yikes.
Inspired by Zuck’s worst dressed profile, the stylists at Tobi decided to take action with theirCEO Style Guide. Armed with cardigans, fitted shirts, and boat shoes, Tobi went deep into the trenches of Silicon Valley, dug out six lucky CEOs and gave them one heckuva makeover. Check out these six newly made men, geeking out on good style. Read More…

>Look of the Week: Wet Weekend, 7 Rain Boots to Get You Through

Rain, rain, go away!
We can sing and wish it away all we want, but any SF girl knows we’re in for our annual spring showers. The upside? Rainy weather is one trend that keeps coming back, so investing in a good pair of rain boots is a definite must.
Let’s take a moment to thank Kate Moss, for launching the Wellie trend, back in 2006, when she made muddy Hunter rain-boots look sexy, with a pair of micro-mini shorts (Of course she did!). Designers and fans quickly took note, and what was once a childhood accessory for jumping in puddles, suddenly boomed as trendy adult footwear.
While colorful, printed Wellies are fun, the trend is moving toward sleek, subtle rain boots that look like everyday footwear. Using rubber and plastic to make modern rain boots is no easy task, but designers continue to amaze us — most recently with wedge, lace-up andhybrid designs. Check out our 7 favorites for staying stylish and dry in the rain.
